RLS is when your legs are constantly moving. They're restless. It feels like bugs are crawling on them and you just have to move. He should see a doctor and get on some medicine if it keeps him from sleeping.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS, Wittmaack-Ekbom's syndrome, or sometimes, but inaccurately, referred to as Nocturnal myoclonus) is a condition that is characterized by an irresistible urge to move one's body to stop uncomfortable or odd sensations. It most commonly affects the legs, but can also be in the arms and torso. Moving the affected body part modulates the sensations, providing temporary relief. The likelihood of being diagnosed with restless legs syndrome increases with age and weight, and decreases with exercise level, indicating that people who have unhealthy eating habits and poor exercise regimens are more likely to develop this syndrome. While some have attempted to imply it is a form of genetic disorder, there is no solid evidence to support this. In fact, the diagnosis of restless legs syndrome increased more than 6200% since drug companies began to sell drugs that cured the previously unknown disease

I used to have it bad. I couldn't sit down without having to move my legs because they would tingle and hurt. It's very annoying. Everyonce in a while they'll do it but not as often. I usually just take a tylenol or something. He can also go to his doctor…I think they have some new medicine out now for it. Don't worry about the age…I'm only 22.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological condition that is characterized by the irresistible urge to move the legs. In order for you to be officially diagnosed with RLS, you must meet the criteria described in the four bullets below:

You have a strong urge to move your legs which you may not be able to resist. The need to move is often accompanied by uncomfortable sensations. Some words used to describe these sensations include: creeping, itching, pulling, creepy-crawly, tugging, or gnawing.
Your RLS symptoms start or become worse when you are resting. The longer you are resting, the greater the chance the symptoms will occur and the more severe they are likely to be.
Your RLS symptoms get better when you move your legs. The relief can be complete or only partial but generally starts very soon after starting an activity. Relief persists as long as the motor activity continues.
Your RLS symptoms are worse in the evening especially when you are lying down. Activities that bother you at night do not bother you during the day.

Age doesn't really matter, and i heard it could be hereditary as well. It can be a sign of anxiety. There is medication available that can be prescribed to him. The thing is it knocks you out within about a half hour….it helps though

About 1 out of 2 people get RLS. I have it and Im 18. It doesnt happen every night. Some things that can cause it is lack of iron or pregnancy or some cases is inheirited through family members. Some things that help treat it is exercising on a regular basis, massaging the legs and arms, and try avoiding caffine or energy drinks. Hope I helped.

It's just a fancy term for hypertension. I really don't think it's a real medical condition.

RLS sucks hardcore!! It's horrible! I have had it off and on for many years, and I am 22 now.

I have noticed that I will experience it for several weeks or months at a time during/after times of stress. Have your boyfriend take B vitamins and potassium to combat his stress. That always helped me.
