I think that while there might be a possible need for direct to consumer advertising, the drug companies should take some responsibility for the side effects fo the drugs. For all the good that they are suppose to do, have you seen some of the side effects? I may be healthy enough for sex but if my heart might stop beating, what is the point of taking the drug.

I completely agree, …
I completely agree, go natural. I want to be a holistic health practitioner for mainly this reason. I am saving up money for the course right now. But the only prblem is that I live in Florida, and it is not a normal practice here yet, but I want to change that. Did you know that even deoderant is a drug, in fact it is beleived that deoderant is the cause of the increase in breast cancer. I really wish I could help people understand the problems they are causeing them selves, but its too late.

I don’t think off label marketing should be legal. Drug advertising is bad enough as it is. The last thing we need to do is make it legal for them to lie in front of our faces about their new drugs and, from a legal standpoint, have done nothing wrong.

There’s no reason to use drugs.
Antidepressants are a rip off, you need to get out and change your living situation if your life is making you depressed!
Antipsychotics are needed only by about .01% of the people who actually use them.
Flouride, thorizine, and all other ‘violence suppressants’ are just mind control drugs to make us into stupid, obediant cattle.
Natural is natural for a reason. Try it sometime.

Psychology student …
Psychology student syndrome is the belief that you have a disorder or a number of disorders simply because you’re just starting to learn about them and you can relate those symptoms to your daily experience.
I’d imagine if the general public hears symptoms advertised to them they are going to relate it back to their experience and ume they have a disorder and that the drug being offered to them is a reasonable solution to a problem they otherwise would have never thought they had…

I’d imagine the only real way to combat the problem in American is by informing people which this video does well. I’d imagine that if your state doesn’t want to ban these commercials, it might be because the state earns money from these sales in some way (not something i know for a fact though, i’m guessing).

informative video. Living in Europe I’ve always taken it for granted that companies like that can’t couldn’t advertise their drugs. Only light drugs (like those against upset stomachs, headaches etc.) are allowed to be advertised for. There are doctors who get paid under the table for selling specific drugs to patients though, but if they’re discovered they end up on the front pages of various magazines so i’m not sure it’s that widespread.
