cure for snoring? read below?
I have had a chance to listen to my dad snore last couple of days (he is around 55). & i am thinking he might be snoring due to inadequate flow of air in the room? could that be it? i dont think he is OVERweight. he sleeps on the side as well!
any other cures..? do the strips work well?
it doesn't other me (i mean it does but i don't care about me getting bothered)
what i care about is his problem. Yes he wakes up suddenly and gasp for air…
i was thinking may be one of those vicks humidfiers might help?
or no? or dr. is the only remedy?
I am thirty and have the same problem. I have sleep apnea. Have your dad go to the doctor and have a sleep test done.

I've always found that an old smelly sock…judiciously placed by the mouth of the snorer works wonders!!!

~Definitely get a sleep study done for sleep apnea. Does he stop breathing then gasp for air, snore loudly?
Check out the link below, you'll find all the info you'll need on it. If you don't think it's that, you can type in sleep disorders.
Good luck~

Snoring is not due to inadequate air circulation in the room but due to congestion in the respiration in some positions. Try to shift his position and he may stop snoring.
Best remedy is that you ignore that someone is snoring around you so that you can have a sound sleep even during his high snoring.

It may be that your dad has sleep apnea, I have it. Has he been tested? there's many ways to resolve this problem once he has been diagnosed. He may not know but if he has sleep apnea he doesn't sleep well, and he is always somewhat tired.

Get a sleep study for your dad to find out if there are other problems related to his snoring, such as sleep apnea.
Then…
Ask your dentist about an anti-snoring appliance.
